[…] Spiked Strawberry Limeade from Lipgloss and Crayons! […]
This Spiked Strawberry Limeade was crafted as a part of a sponsored post for Socialstars and Sweet’N Low…..but my obsession with making it AGAIN and AGAIN? All mine! #donthesitasteThe middle of summer is already here. It's hot, and weekend mornings start a little slowly. Suddenly our breakfasts are turning into brunches. We've been inviting friends over on Saturday mornings before the heat kicks in for eggs, playdates and our new favorite brunch cocktail Spiked Strawberry Limeade. This sweet cocktail is perfect for warm summer days, and light enough to enjoy more than one (thanks to Sweet'N Low I can enjoy a few without the extra calories!). Spiked Strawberry Limeade
Ingredients
6 cups of water
2/3 cup Sweet’N Low (adds the right amount of sweet without the calories)
1/2 cup of sliced strawberries
1 cup lime juice
8 jiggers of vodka
Instructions
Strawberry Simple Syrup:
Combine 1 cup of water, Sweet'N Low, and sliced strawberries in a pot.Still until combined over low heat, then bring mixture to a boil. Lower heat, and allow to simmer for 10 minutes. Once cool, can be stored in glass jars.
Spiked Strawberry Limeade:
Combine lime juice, 5 cups of water, 1/3 cup of strawberry simple syrup, and vodka in a pitcher.
Chill, and serve garnished with strawberries.
Enjoy!

Our family is big on brunch too…we lounge about on the patio sipping the 3rd cup of coffee while someone brings out a nice steamy platter of eggs or bread or bacon…or all three. I’d love to serve strawberry limeade…I bet the kids would get a kick out of a non-alcoholic version!
