LA with a kid? I get emails a lot asking about our favorite local activities, and which ones we’d suggest for a family. So, the first feature in my list of LA kid activities? The LA Zoo.
I’d been to the zoo for field trips a million times, but it’s funny how you don’t pay attention to baby / toddler details until you have one. Upon the recommendation of a local mommy friend, we asked the grandparents for a family membership to the LA Zoo as a Christmas gift.
So, our first family trip was perfect. The LA Zoo is big enough to take ALL day to walk around. We spent the morning at the Zoo, and came home in time for Lydia’s nap. Apparently, she’s at perfect zoo age…..because she LOVED it! She pointed at all the animals and yelled “HI!” at the top of her lungs.
From a mom standpoint……the zoo was ideal. They recently remodeled a ton of exhibits. Paths are wide. It’s super stroller friendly, and there are changing tables everywhere. There is a GIANT playground in the front…..and the zoo offers toddler activities during the week.
If you’re an LA local, the zoo membership is TOTALLY worth the cost. In fact, we’re planning to go a couple times a month!
This post is not sponsored. In fact, the Zoo has no idea who I am. I just thought it was the perfect start to my Kids in LA series!
