One of my favorite people I've met in blogland, Meagan wrote a post earlier this week about personal style. It inspired me to start thinking about my own. In blogland, it's so easy to start dressing exactly the same as everyone else. Not gonna lie, I'm just as guilty as anyone else of buying things that are adorable on someone else….only to find that they sit in my closet. They're not “me”. I don't gravitate towards them. So…..those pieces I do gravitate towards? They are me. They are MY style. This year? Focusing on that. What do I love? What do I feel good in?
A few things that I believe define my personal style:
-stripes / polka dots
– skirts and dress, I rarely wear pants….they just don't look good on my body type
– heels, platforms, wedges…..flats aren't worn often around here….although I'm wondering if that will change once Lydia is on the move?
– vests, I LOVE them……probably wear them way too often
– black and white……it looks good EVERY time.
Enter this adorable black and white cardigan from Oakleigh Rose Boutique. I love the bold mix of patterns. It's super versatile, and would look great with a pair of black jeans…..or mixed with this black and white striped dress. When it comes to black and white, I feel like you can never have too many patterns! Oakleigh Rose was founded by mother and daughter duo, Annette Blomes and Meaghan Shelton. Oakleigh Rose focuses on making other women feel confident in their own skin, what better place to find pieces that express YOUR personal style?
