I had a generic post ready to go today with these pictures….since I wasn't EXACTLY sure when our little one would arrive…..and now, the night before our c section……here I am. Rewriting this, as a thank you letter because the day has come….plus, I figured while $2,000 doesn't begin to reflect my gratitude…..it was a good start!
Today at 2 pm, our daughter will be born via c section and I am so thankful.
I am thankful for so many things, and I haven't even met our miracle yet.
One year ago today, we had a miscarriage. I was devastated. It felt like the end of the world. On Easter Sunday, we found out we were pregnant again…..and now…..one year later…..here we are. It's amazing the difference a year makes.
I am thankful for the support our friends and family have shown throughout this process. I don't think I can imagine the last year without them.
I am thankful for for our church community and our faith, it helped to support me when I was scared and lost.
I am thankful for my school, my students and the staff……they celebrated each stage of this pregnancy with me and were amazingly supportive.
I am thankful for my doctor, every annoying procedure and appointment I had, and all the invasive appointments leading up to this pregnancy…..good medical care is becoming less common…..and I have not forgotten that.
I am thankful for my husband. I can't imagine being on this journey with a better partner….and he certainly handled my hormonal mood swings with the patience of a saint.
I am thankful for this amazing online community. I can't tell you how many of you have touched my heart with emails, comments, tweets, and friendship. I feel so loved, and can't wait to introduce you all to our baby!
I am thankful for the gift of parenthood, because throughout this all…..I realize it is a gift and one that many are still hoping and praying for. I am extremely grateful for the privilege of being a mother, and will be thinking this morning of those of you (both known and unknown) who are still on this path. Please know that your struggle holds a special place in my heart…..and that I pray for each you the path to parenthood is short rather than long.
So, on that note……..see y'all on the other side of this life changing experience! If you're interested in baby updates, feel free to follow along on Instagram!
